Map of the Midtown – Tunnel Fifth Avenue Station alternative with boundaries of Spring Street to the north, Seventh Avenue to the east, Cherry Street to the south, and Third Avenue to the west. The tunnel guideway for this new station runs north and south under Fifth Avenue with a station platform located between Madison Street and Marion Street. Station entry points for this station alternative include two on the southeast corner of the Fourth Avenue and Madison Street crossroad and two on the northeast corner of the Fifth Avenue and Columbia Street crossroad. Pedestrian-focused realms will be implemented around the potential station entrances. These realms are located on each side of Madison Street between the Fourth Avenue and Fifth Avenue crossroad and on the northeast corner of the Fifth Avenue and Columbia Street crossroad. Existing crosswalks to the proposed Midtown – Tunnel Fifth Avenue station area are located at the crossroads of Fourth Avenue and Madison Street, Fifth Avenue and Madison Street, Fourth Avenue and Marion Street, Fifth Avenue and Marion Street, and Fifth Avenue and Columbia Street. Current bus routes run east and west on Spring Street, Madison Street, and Marion Street, and north and south on Third Avenue, Fifth Avenue north of Spring Street, and Sixth Avenue between Madison and Marion Street, and north to south on Interstate-Five. Active bus bays include a location on the south side of Madison Street between Fourth Avenue and Fifth Avenue and a location on the south side of Spring Street between Fourth Avenue and Fifth Avenue. A paratransit stop is located on the northeast corner of the Fifth Avenue and Columbia Street crossroad. Existing bicycle facilities exist east and west on Spring Street and north and south on Fourth Avenue. Future bicycle facilities exist north and south on Fifth Avenue. Parks and public space are located at Freeway Park at Spring Street and Sixth Avenue.
